What are Small Groups?

When we look into the Bible, we see over and over how small groups of people met together for teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer.  Acts 2:46-47 "Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people." NASB95.  Because of this, the community was impacted and the ministry grew.

"Small Groups", a term that one hears often today in many churches, is a place where a few people come together for a common purpose.  It would be ideal to have many small groups.  The ultimate purpose is to help each one become mature in their Christian life.

Why be involved in Small Groups?

I do not know of any other activity in my spiritual life that helped me grow more than small groups.  It allowed me to develop a close relationship with others who truly care and will pray for me.  It helped me to study the Word of God and learn its truths practically.

Our plan is to start with small groups divided by age and/or family situation.  These small groups would then meet periodically with other groups in other age ranges, giving an opportunity for the younger to gain wisdom from the older as they learn and grow together.

If you are interested in a close relationship with other Christians, want to become more like Jesus Christ and have a desire to make a difference in the world, then small groups might be the answer for you.  Contact us for more information about our Small Groups Ministries.
